Carrie Underwood Tickets – Underwood Looking Toward Future

Carrie Underwood Tickets – Underwood Looking Toward Future

Country sweetheart Carrie Underwood has many reasons to look back and reminisce. She is one of the most successful winners of the television singing competition American Idol. She has gone on to have numerous singles on the charts and has had success in the country world as well as the mainstream music scene. Her musical success has raked in countless awards from Grammys to American Music Awards. If that wasn’t enough, she has also been involved in many charities over the years. Underwood, though, isn’t dwelling in the past.

Instead, her focus is set firmly on the future, and she has big plans for where life will bring her next. The first is turning from a music artist into a music artist/actress. She dipped her toes into the acting scene on March 1, when she guest starred on the hit CBS television comedy How I Met Your Mother. In an interview with The Boot, she revealed that her character on the show is a lot meaner than Carrie is in real life, and she also revealed that her acting ability surprised the rest of the cast. Her character, Tiffany, is a pharmaceutical sales rep as well as the character Ted’s love interest.

Underwood will need every lesson she has learned on the show as she plunges onto the set of Soul Surfer. The film will mark her big screen debut, and she will have quite the cast with her to do so. In the film, Underwood plays a church youth leader, and the movie is being shown in Hawaii, according to E! Online. The film is about the real-life story of Bethany Hamilton, a teenage surfer who fought to get back on the waves after losing her arm in a shark attack. The film will also star Anna Sophia Robb, Helen Hunt, Dennis Quaid, Lorraine Nicholson and Sean Brosnan. The film could open as early as the summer of 2010.

Colbie Caillat Tickets – Remaining Bubbly Through More Tour Dates

This spring, plan to get all bubbly with Colbie Caillat as the contemporary pop singer jets off this April for a six-month outing in support of her 2009 sophomore release Breakthrough. While the Newbury Park native soars through several dates on her own in April, the 24-year-old California girl will join fellow female musicians during the Lilith Fair Tour in June. The dates through September – which sees singles like “Bubbly” and “Realize” hit cities like Indio, Salisbury, Lancaster, Montgomery, Sun Valley, Cleveland, Portsmouth, Milwaukee, Edmonton, San Diego, Louisville and others – are sure to keep Colbie Caillat tickets selling well on StubHub.

Breakthrough was the smiling SoCal native’s second release with Universal, following her breakthrough hit and major label debut Coco. The 2007 release featured her number 5 Billboard 200 hit “Bubbly,” a track that epitomized this young star’s easygoing personality and passion for smooth melodies. “My songs are optimistic and bright,” Caillat said to USA Today. “I grew up in Southern California and Hawaii. The lifestyle was laid back and I listened to mellow, positive music like Bob Marley and Jack Johnson. So I think that’s all inside me. I’m happy, and that gets expressed through my music.” The bubbly side of Breakthrough has come in tracks like “You Got Me,” “Fallin’ for You” and “Break Through,” singles that have continued to keep Caillat in the mainstream.

A former American Idol hopeful who got shot down twice, this singer is now on the brink of superstardom – much like her musical inspirations Johnson and Marley. Topping the chart, Breakthrough was another hit record that demonstrated that Caillat wasn’t trying too hard. Yet many signs show the hard work of this young star, as Caillat wrote most of the 12 tracks, with help along the way from Rick Nowels, Jason Reeves, John Shanks and even American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi. The tunes helped to earn Caillat her first Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album this year.

George Strait Tickets – Another Summerfest to Celebrate

George Strait has consistently been one of the top-selling country music artists to grace the Nashville scene over the last few decades, and it’s only fitting that this contemporary country icon should land a slot as the first headliner at the world’s largest music festival. Summerfest, heralded as the largest music festival by the Guinness Book of World Records in 1999, is the event of the year for Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and it has just been announced that Strait will perform at next year’s event, which will take place from June 25 to July 5, 2009.

The annual Summerfest event took form in 1968, when then-Mayor Maier started the festival in an attempt to bring pride and attention to Milwaukee’s downtown. Summerfest came about after Maier was inspired by a visit to Oktoberfeset in Munich, Germany, and the “Milwaukee World Festival,” which eventually turned into “Summerfest,” took off from there.
The incredible George Strait will take his fun-loving country music act to the big stage (or one of them, anyway) next summer at Milwaukee’s 75-acre Henry Maier Festival Park for the 10-day event, performing alongside all the big names in the music industry. Last year’s list of performers included LeAnn Rimes, Gnarls Barkley, Little Big Town, Three Dog Night and more, and Summerfest’s upcoming lineup is sure to promise just as many stellar acts to perform on one of the event’s 12 stages, including the 23,000 seat Marcus Amphitheater for headlining acts such as George Strait.

Before he was headlining the world’s biggest music affairs, the outstanding vocalist Strait was toying around with rock ‘n’ roll music in a garage band as a teenager in Pearsall, Texas, where he was born and raised in the 1950s and ’60s. After graduating from high school, Straight enrolled in college but dropped out and married his high school love, also enlisting in the Army. Stationed in Hawaii, Straight started playing gigs with an Army-sponsored country band called Rambling Country, and by the time he left the Army in 1975 the young Texan was left with a mouthful of music he couldn’t quite spit out. Straight spent a short span of time at Southwest Texas State University at San Marcos, studying agriculture while developing the makings of his own country band Ace in the Hole. Ace in the Hole furthered George Strait’s music dream, but ultimately he was signed onto MCA Records as a solo country artist in 1980, putting his name on the map for the first time with the hit single “Unwound” in 1981. As soon as the country crooner touched his feet down on Nashville soil with “Unwound,” the hits started flooding in. Strait breezed through the rest of the ’80s with smash singles such as “If You’re Thinking You Want a Stranger (There’s One Coming Home)” and “Fool Hearted Memory,” diving right into the ’90s with “I Cross My Heart,” “Easy Come, Easy Go,” “Heartland,” “Blue Clear Sky” and “True.”
